Aquamail automaticly sends read receipts if I have read a mail.
How can I stop this (deactivate)?
-
The sending of read receipt IS disabled !!!

Samsung S7 Edge
Android 7.0
Aquamail 1.9.1-360

Sent.
We will see!

@My-Aquamail
Is the "read receipt" panel visible back on the compose screen before you tap Send?
-
Hi.
I don't want to receive a read receipt, I don't want that others can see if I already have read a message they sent to me!
So why should be the "read receipt" be visible in a message that I want to send?
But yes, it is visible.

Hi.
I don't want to receive a read receipt, I don't want that others can see if I already have read a message they sent to me!
So, if you don't want that the senders can see if you have read a message then you don't want to send a (requested) read receipt to these people.
-> Settings -> Message view -> uncheck / disable 'Send read receipts'
-
Oh leck.
It IS disabled !!!
But Aquamail sends a receipt anyway !!!
-
Problem is the Exchange account!
-
Well, I have to accept that read receipts are being sent.
There's no way to stop that if you use an Exchange account and you don't have access to the server as an admin.
-
If you receive a message and the sender has requested a "read receipt", then you should see a "read receipt requestes" panel on the top of the text field (in 'message view' of course) right below of the message header:
-> screenshot #1
> Tap on this panel and you will get a "Confirmation window" (screenshot #2)
-> Just tap on "NEVER" and no 'Read receipt' should be send to the sender.

Believe me,
if I got an email in my Exchange account and this email is displayed in my cell phone or iPad...,
there is no Button to click to decide if I want to send a receipt or not.
The Exchange account itself sends back the read receipt.
-
It is a read receipt as you can see on the attached picture!
-
Apparently, Exchange server can send this "read receipts" automatically.

That answer also says it's impossible to disable it (even on the server), - but there are descriptions of how that could be done (of course, you'd need a server administrator access):

To others reading this topic:
Turned out this is an Exchange account.
Exchange processes read requests on its own, independently of mail apps, and will send a "read receipt" when a message is marked as read. There appears to be no way to suppress this.
( and btw, this has come on this forum before )

Hi,
first sorry for my bad english.
I have the Problem that in my Exchange Account the "read receipt" is deactivate but Aqua mail sent a "read receipt". If I open my mails in an other email clients on my Android, I doesn't get an "read receipt".
IMAP_Accounts in Aqau Mail and other Email Clients doest't sent "read receipts".
What can I do?
Best regards
Dirk
