Title: Help to turn off threaded mode and show unread email
Post by: Mikej on March 03, 2017, 09:12:15 pm
Hi,

I have been using Aqua Mail for a long time on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and I'm very happy with it.  I have just loaded it on to my Google Nexus 7 tablet, and there are a couple of features that I had sorted on my Samsung that I can't remember how to do - any help gratefully received.

Firstly - how do I turn off the threaded / conversation mode - I would like all messages shown in the order that they were received rather than grouping them together.

Secondly - the Nexus does not show the number of new messages on the Aqua Mail icon on the home screen, it does on my Samsung - how can I enable this please?.

THanks in advance for the help.

Cheers,
Mike.

1. Settings -> Contacts

2. Use a launcher. I recommend Nova pro
1. Settings -> Conversations -> uncheck the first option "Conversation combining"

Thanks guys,

I've got the conversation mode turned off, and downloaded Nova - ut I'm not sure how to get the "New Mail" number on the Icon - is there a "how to" or similar for this please?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi, there are two ways to get a badge in Nova Launcher:

1. If you are using Nova Prime, then install "Tesla Unread for Nova Launcher" from same developer :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.notifier

2. You can add a widget (AquaMail) for a folder or account. You will see a badge with number of unread messages.

I believe Nova has a setting to "enable unread badges on icons" or something, and trying to enable that will prompt to install Tesla Unread, if not already installed.

That's all you need -- Aqua Mail will detect Tesla Unread and talk to it.

Specifically, please do *not* enable "email notifications" or "monitor notifications from apps and grab unread badge counts from there" (unsure about the wording), that will only harm Aqua's direct interaction with Tesla / Nova.
