Title: multi select on left

The checkboxes on left for multi selection of messages on message list seemed to appear on last update... I cannot find a choice to remove them anymore... are they permanent now?

The choice in message list always was: either "contact images" which also double as the mechanism to select, or with "contact images" off, checkboxes.

Now the design of those checkboxes has been updated (as much of everything else in that view), but the principle is still the same.

Seeing how there are quite a few posts about "how do I turn off both contact images and checkboxes" --

-- I just went ahead and did it. After all it's been in our task tracker for a long time.

This *will not* be included in version 1.8.

This *will* be part of the next version 1.9; forum posts of that version's "work in progress" should start reasonably soon.

Why would the checkbox on thread headers be different from the checkbox on messages? Or are you proposing that the design of that checkbox / checkmark be changed?

It's the *standard* Android checkbox, what's wrong?

And there is going to be an option to turn it off too, no, still no good?

I meant the option (added two nights ago, won't be in 1.8, will be in 1.9) -- to turn off per-message checkboxes completely.

I saw a lot of requests for that, so went ahead and did it.

This is for both individual messages, collapsed conversations, expanded conversations. All of them.
