Title: Caching of messages not picking up current setting
Post by: rsaritzky on December 29, 2016, 08:49:36 pm
Hi,

One of the main reasons I purchased Aquamail Pro is to allow the storage/caching of messages on my Android phone.  I have the caching of messages set to 2500.  However, my account shows only about 450 - the number never gets higher than that.

Is there another setting somewhere that says "delete from cache when email is deleted from the server?"  Because my email server only stores messages for 2 weeks, then deletes it.  But I want Aquamail to store the messages forever (or until 2500 is reached).

Thanks

Ron

In general, this is not a scheme I'd recommend.

Still:

Yes there is a setting exactly like that.

Long press on the account -> options and folders -> account options -> "remove deleted messages", turn off.

You will also want to make sure the app preloads your messages fully when it checks mail, or else it won't be able to find them later when it needs to:

App settings -> network -> load when checking mail; this is for message text
Long press on the account -> options and folders -> preload; this is for attachments and inline images.
