Title: lost mail
Post by: hawaiianlungs1 on December 08, 2016, 09:17:13 pm
I have been using aquamail pro for years.  It seems to work fine.  But always there is an annoying problem.

After I get mail with aquamail,  if I then go to my desktop there is still mail there.  Not spam,  but mail I want to unsubscribe from.

I want aquamail to receive all this mail so I can quickly unsubscribe.  Is there a setting?  Other?

What type of account/connection (IMAP, POP3, EWS) are you using?

You can check your set up as follows:
Long press on the account, and then "Options and Folders". If it has "IMAP options", it is an IMAP account, if it is "POP3 options", it is a POP3 account.

It would help to know how the Windows app is set up too - IMAP or POP3.

And would also help to know where (in which folder) those messages show, if they do, on the mail provider's web site.

When I went to the internet and looked at Yahoo mail,  the messages in question were jn the spam folder.  Apparently Yahoo is filtering them and nothing shows up in Aquamail.

Nothing in Aquamail spam folder.

Aquamail is set up as I Map.  I want to keep Aquamail I Map,  but want the spam to come through so I can unsubscribe

Please check that the Spam folder in Aqua Mail:

1) Points to this and same Spam folder on the server (there may be different ones there, Spam, Spam Messages, Junk Messages, Junk Mail, etc.)

2) Is set to "sync" so the app checks it as often as it checks the Inbox for example.

For this please:

1) Long press on the account -> options and folders -> folders

2) Let it refresh

3) Find the right spam folder (if there is more than one)

4) Tap its name, choose "Sync as spam"

5) Back out and now you'll have it on the app's main screen and it will be checked for mail (but won't notify).

Unrelated to Aquamail, but just a comment on this quoted phrase.
Unless you signed up for a list or had some relations with the source of that spam (made a purchase from them, opened online account...), - you shouldn't unsubscribe. First, it will not unsubscribe. Second, instead it will confirm to the spammer that that address is working.
