Hello,
I have been using aqua mail for the last four-five years and I really love it. For the last few days I have had problems syncing with my mail (yahoo). It started yesterday with the sceduled wifi sync, then later I could not manually sync it. When I changed my connection to 3G it resolved the problem for a while, but then it refused to sync too and I had to restart my phone and it started working again. Today I found out that I have the problem again while in 3G. It seems that the problem is not aqua mail related, because I tried to check my mail using the gmail app and it did not work either. (everything else is working: whats app, internet, other data using apps). Now I am using wifi and its syncing fine. Any ideas what's going on and how to fix it?

Do you get a "login error" and then an automated email about attempted access from a "less secure" app?
If so, please try this:

Other than that:
Yahoo has been hard at work breaking their mail service, for years. They've often succeeded too.
And if it fails to work in the Gmail app, well, maybe they've done it again.
Feel free to capture the issue in the app's debug log (please see the link in my signature, below), but even with that, we may discover that it's broken so badly that I won't be able to work around it... but I will tell you what it is to improve your chances with Yahoo support.

Thank you for the fast reply.
No it does not give me a login error or email (I have allowed yahoo to use third party "insecure software").
It says error syncing email: unable to connect to network.
Of course after I tried to make a debug log it started working again for a few minutes, but then it stopped again I am sending you a debug file.

I had similar issues. Read somewhere on the forum that a user changed Yahoo settings from IMAP to POP3. I did that and now things seem to be working fine. Just open account settings and change that.
btw I already had 'allow less secure apps' active before the error started.

Changing your account (connection) type from IMAP to POP3 is a workaround that limits your capabilities: POP3 is a much more limited protocol.

You are right. I have noticed that, specifically with folder sync, but until we resolve this issue, my yahoo mail is good to go.

In my case I am still with IMAP.
Things seem to have come back to normal in the last few days: I only seem to get any errors only when I am really not accessing any network (wifi or 3G). It seems that before the yahoo servers were unconnecting me as soon as the app requested connection with them.

Am back on IMAP and it's working well too. I wonder !

@nadiaD - I've seen your debug log, yes, the server disconnects as soon as AquaMail sends the "login" command.
So I think it's related to the "less secure apps" thing, even if you've got that set to "allow less secure apps", and probably is a bug deep inside Yahoo's server code.
