Title: How do I really "exit" AquaMail?
Post by: pstein on August 22, 2016, 09:59:46 am
How do I "exit" AquaMail?

There is no "exit" entry in menu.

When I tap on "HomeScreen" button AquaMail is only put to background but not really closed.

If you are talking about exiting the app, that question is answered in the FAQ: How do I exit AquaMail?. http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=227

If you are talking about stopping the app  you don't want to do that under any regular circumstances: otherwise you wouldn't be able to receive any mail automatically.  All mail apps are designed to run in the background,  waking up periodically and checking your incoming mail (or continuously maintaining connection to the server when "push" is enabled.
You may want to read the FAQ to understand better
this and other details how Aquamail operates.

I hope this helps.

By Android convention:

Home key is same as "minimize" is in Windows -- it preserves UI state on next "restart" (== "restore from tray" so to speak).

To really "exit" please use the Back button -- then the next time the app will re-start in a "fresh" state.

Note that this is only for the app's UI -- the "background part" will keep working either way, checking mail, notifying, as you would expect.
