Title: Exchange. Error synchronizing mail, network error.
Post by: Cukierkas on April 18, 2016, 10:56:21 pm
Hello here.  Fresh user, one friend had recommended this lovely app, happy to use it. Except one thing.
Getting this kind of error while manually updating.  Push seem not to work at all.  But, after refreshing manually, or with sync timed, letters ar coming.  Push letters not.  Every setting available is tried, have no clue what to do more.  Log  attached.  Edit, can't upload the file, 1,3MB and growing :)

Another edit, some logs, hope that helps.
16:31:38 Synchronizing local changes in folder 'Juodraščiai'
16:31:39 Uploading to server 'kmlexc20.kme.intern'
16:31:39 Synchronization of some deletions failed.

16:31:39            1 item(s) deleted in online folder

Problem with draft folder.  Sadly I can't exclude from syncing it.  What could be possible solutions?

Regards.

Let me try to address a few issues.

1. Log file, - it would be best if you e-mail it directly to the sole developer, Kostya, kmansoft  / gmail.

2. From the log excerpt you posted, it looks like you are using a MS Exchange account.
This type of connectivity/account in Aquamail does not support PUSH, at least not at this point.
You can use PUSH only with IMAP accounts.
If I am wrong with determining that it is Exchange (EWS), and you actually have IMAP, - please let us know and we'll try to help you with figuring out what might be needed for PUSH.

3. As for the "Drafts" folder, - I suggest that you check if you have mapping of your "Drafts" folder in Aquamail to a particular folder on the server. It looks like Aquamail might be trying to sync with a non-existent folder.

Long Press on "Drafts" folder in Aquamail. See what folder it points to (an arrow and folder name in the small pop-up menu).
Now go to "Other folders" where you will see the list of all folders on the server and check if that folder actually exists on the server.

Hello there.  Seems you're talking true.  Aqua doesn't support this kind of ews push.  My system administrator told me to delete this app, because it's killing trafic:)
About draft folder, it's mapped to draft.  It's always empty.  Don't know why app is trying to get something, while there is nothing to get.  Screen attached.
Can't use scheduled imap, I need mails on time.  Will try with 5 min schedule.

Regards.

I am not sure why your sysadmin said that. Aquamail is not using more traffic then any other typical e-mail client (e.g. Thunderbird).

OK, so it is configured as it should be.
You have it configured to sync (it may have been done automatically by Aquamail). And that's the right way: it allows you to preserve the draft(s) of the messages on the server, so that you can continue writing your message later - and not just from Aquamail but also from any other client that you may have connected to this account, or the webmail interface if that is configured so.

I am not sure why there is an error. I've seen some people reporting recently some "jitter" between different languages by some big mail providers, where the language was switching sporadically from the local one to English, causing some problems with the "special purpose" mail folders. From the error your posted, it doesn't seem to be the case, - but it is not completely clear.

Have you sent the debug log to the developer?

This statement is very confusing. I suspect something may have been lost in translation from Lithuanian. So, could you please clarify a few things:
1. Are you using EWS or IMAP type of connection (Aquamail account)?

2. Do you have IMAP connectivity available at your mail server?
3. If yes, does the server's IMAP support PUSH?

If the answer for #2 and #3 is "yes", and if you indeed need quick notification about incoming messages, - you can configure your account as IMAP, and enable PUSH. (You cannot convert a EWS accountinto an IMAP account in Aquamail, so, you'll have to create a new account, choosing "IMAP", and then delete the EWS account. But you will loose some EWS-based functionality that way.)

P.S. I find that most people (90% if not 95%) do not really need immediate notifications for the e-mail messages, and 5-minutes frequency is more than sufficient.
On the opposite side, just recently (a few years ago), one of the top managers of IT group of my employer (where over 50 000 people within the organization rely on e-mail communication, internal and external) stated that a 1-hour delay of e-mail delivery inside the organization is not a problem. (And for the record, - I strongly disagree with that. :) )

Good morning. Was looking for a thank-you button, but couldn't find any in this forum. :)

About traffic. Guessing my it manager told me that, because I'm only one who's interesting him with phone and email problems. All other colleges are fine with default email apps on their handsets. :)

I do understand draft folder functionalities, but was thinking,  it's not so complicated.
No,I didn't sent, couldn't get idea of your way you have written it . Will do that later during the day.

Sorry about that snour sentence, seems that Swiftkey keyboard decided to write so:)
I  ment only  I need push notifications and will try 5 min schedule. That doesn't worked either, same error.
My account is ews, IMAP is not included, sadly. Will try to convert to IMAP as you have stated.
About 1hour delay. Yes,that's normal, but during that hour I can reply other mails,so prefer to have notifications as soon it's possible.

Regards.

does not come from AquaMail.

Looks more like Android's stock Email app or maybe Gmail app.

Thanks for the answer.
Sending the aqua log to kmsoft.  Hope there will be something useful.

That log on my post is from our exchange server, folder sync log.

Regards.

And can you clarify, the issue you're having is unable to upload drafts?

I'm not using draft folder at all, I want to exclude it if it's possible.  Is it?

Using mail mainly on mobile phone, so drafts are not necessarily.  The mail app is compatible to save unfinished letter.  Hope that would help to escape that network error.
Is log some kind helpful?

Haven't seen the log yet (was busy with something else) but will look at it soon.

Syncing Drafts is a standard feature, esp. for Exchange accounts.

There is no reason why it should not work, let's see what I find out from the log.

And by the way, just Google'd for that error code:

There are plenty more. As you can see, it's not specific to AquaMail.

Hello there dear aquamail fans. Finally we with Konstantin managed to work out my problem!
Folowing Kostya's advice, via Web version I cleared Deleted folder. That didn't worked. Afterwards I removed sync from MT folder (with rule)  and bingo, aqua is on the wings!
To make sure, which step was a culprit, I readed MT folder to sync again, for my pleasure, it is working fine again.  So, maybe only that trick was needed.

Thanks fellas for this lovely geek friendly app.

Happy user.
