On two devices I am finding that long pressing within the AquaMail search dialog does not bring up the (presumably) standard android 'paste' button. Both running KK 4.4.4 but not the same rom. Why care? The text string I was searching for contains an awkward sequence of characters that is time consuming and error prone to rekey.
Anyone else seeing this? 1.6.1.0-dev4.7
(realize I am running a development version but the function I am asking about is part of the recent change chain; be gentle if this should have been reported elsewhere; happy to accommodate)

Hmm, yes it's the new search view.
I'll see what I can do.

Sorry...didn't mean to add another item to your 'to-do' list. :-[
That said, if a quick fix can be found the benefits will be significant for the small community that might use search in this manner. Really is a pretty powerful function; I prefer AM to the Gmail browser engine (itself pretty powerful) for many queries.

That quick fix took three days, but is now done.
You can expect it in the next -dev build.

Long press (or tap) to Paste, the usual Android UI can be counted on.
Other actions (Select all, Cut, Copy) are present on Android 6 and on earlier Android versions on those phones which use a popup (as opposed to Action Bar) for these actions: HTC, LG (the ones I know).

Yikes ... so sorry the time investment went way beyond 'a quick fix'! Hopefully there was some reusable benefit (knowledge/code/beer) to the excercise. I am very appreciative of the effort you put into this and look forward to extending search in new and interesting ways. I really like the way results are presented in the AquaMail UI. Highly usable and often more relevant that what comes back from other email search engines.
Yes - AquaMail is now a 'search engine'! Move over Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo (lol). :)

Yes, this really needed to be fixed before releasing 1.6.1 for everyone -- I'm sure there are more people used to "pasting in" their search terms.
And so -- thank YOU!
