Title: Email don't show sign of reply
Post by: Carararagt on January 07, 2016, 09:40:03 am
Ciao to everyone,

I just replied with Thunderbird to some emails from my PC,  in Acquamail none of the emails show the sign (arrow) of the response.

Thanks

Umberto

Thanks for the prompt reply,  yes I am in IMAP and and yes I  refreshed the account. Do you mean to click the button refresh located beside icons WRITE SEARCH...... Correct?

Is your account configured with IMAP in Thunderbird? YES

- Are you looking in Smart Folder to see the "sent arrow"? YES

- Have you refreshed in Account list (main view), using the icon beside the account name? YES

- Within a conversation, if you are using Conversation view, there are no arrows for "sent messages". Arrows are there for "reply" and "forward". YES THERE ARE THE ARROWS ONLY FOR REPLIES DONE THRIUGH ACQUAMAIL.  I DONT SEE THE "SENT ARROW" FOR REPLIES FROM MY PC
OR IF I REPLIES FROM ACQUAMAIL I DONT SEE THE "SENT ARROW"  IN THUNDERBIRD ON MY PC

It's possible that Thunderbird is configured using POP3 and not IMAP -- so it doesn't "back sync" those flags to the server.

Is it possible that Aquamail and Thunderbird are set using different From address (different identities)? So that they don't recognize the other's messages as "yourself"?

Re: StR

Not necessary. It's a per-message flag, and I'm sure that AquaMail does sync it from the server if set.

The \Replied flag is mandatory in IMAP, the $Forwarded flag is optional.

If the server doesn't support $Forwarded (it happens), AquaMail uses the \Replied flag (when it's the one wanting to set this flag).

The best way to diagnose this is to long press the account in AquaMail -> Diag: message dates -> select the appropriate folder -> run the test -> at the end, the app will prompt to send me a log file.

The log has message IDs, dates, and flags. Then I'll be able to see what's there in server responses.
