First time in this forum, but long time user.
I updated to a Sprint LG G4 about 3 weeks ago, and since the last Aquamail update, I get the following error message whenever I try to attach an image or any file.
Aqua mail invalid or nonexistent attachment content
I also receive it when opening attachments. I changed the download folder from the internal to the SD card (a removable SD card) with no success.
Screenshot attached. Any thoughts?
Can provide a logcat if requested.

The "real sd card" is not any good since Android 4.4
What app are you attaching *from* -- in the screenshot?
I don't seem to be able to reproduce, Android 5.1 (not that it should matter), and Google Photos (as well as other sources, except OneDrive which is broken in their 3.0 version).

Oh and it would be good to capture this in the app's debug log. Please see the link below in my signature.

Tried selecting "Images" in Android's "unified document picker", got a URL just like yours:
content://com.android.providers.media.documents/document/image%3A1885
and it worked fine.... Maybe try re-installing the app in case it didn't get some permission from the system during the update?

Debug log sent to your email as instructed.
I will uninstall and reinstall again to see if that helps.
