Hi,
when sending a mail, it will be stored in the sent-folder, great.
But often it's needed to have this mail also in the appropiate custom folder, like e.g. folder name "work". Is there a way to have the mail in both sent-folder and custom folder "work"?
(In Gmail web interface it's just adding a label?
Thanks for help.

Can't think of a way to do this, sorry.

Ok, thank you.
Feature to allow copy to a folder within the same account would be helpful?
-
It would be -- but at the same time, I think that (especially with Gmail) a single message existing in multiple folders is pretty confusing. Unless you know exactly what's going on -- which you do, but I wouldn't assume this level of technical awareness for everyone.

With enabled "Conversation view" you should see the sent message also in the custom folder "work" - when replying or forwarding (... and moving the 'original' received message to "work" or any other custom folder)

Thank you for response.
My problem occurs, when composing a new mail.
Found a crazy and a bit complicated workaround:
- After having sent the mail, I find it in the sent-folder (btw: without enabling the option "copy in sent folder")
- Additionally I can find the mail in "All messages" folder
- Now I move the mail from "All messages" to custom folder, e.g "work".
- After next sync the mail will be re-synced by gmail in "All messages" ;). Now 2 messages (because of location in 2 folders "sent" and "work"), shown as conversation.
It's not perfect, but better than nothing. Of course I would prefer a copy feature within the same account.

I do not have a solution for working with Gmail labels as labels (as opposed to the label <-> folder mapping done by Gmail itself).
I'm sorry. My deepest apologies.
Same as I don't have a solution for a few dozen other things.
I'm very very sorry.

Hi, thanks for response.
I understand.
Demanding for a copy feature is not only gmail related, it is useful for every account by any providers. We know that feature from other mail clients, e.g Thunderbird, Boomerang.
And it's christmas, so there is always a wishlist... :D
