Title: Option to not sync read status back to Exchange?
Post by: AMJD on November 19, 2015, 10:40:18 am
Hello,
I'm trying AquaMail to replace my existing dated Exchange email client. But one option I need (for a shared mailbox) that I can't find is the ability to not sync read and delete changes back to Exchange. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks.

There is no such option specifically (i.e. mark read locally and not propagate to server) -- but you may be interested in setting app settings -> message view -> mark as read -> "never automatically".

Thanks for the pointer -- that will probably make it workable for me, and I very much like the customability of AquaMail.
But please add the sync option to the request list.
Thanks.

As far as I'm concerned, that IMAP and EWS allow back-sync of client made changes is a *desirable feature* of those mail protocols, not a bug.

I do understand your use case, but I think we can agree that it's quite unusual (bordering on misuse).

I also do understand that in a corporate environment, it's "whatever it takes for the team to work together", sure.
