Title: Get email working on mobile network - FIXED
Post by: nkcowlishaw on July 30, 2015, 08:17:03 am
AquaMail works fine on WiFi.
Everything else works fine on WiFi and mobile network.
AquaMail will not send nor receive email on mobile network.
ISP is TPG mobile carrier in Amaysim.
I have tried various mail server settings.
Any specific mail server settings or other setting I could try before looking for another email app would be appreciated.

Hi,
To "catch" this issue, please create a log file as described here (headline: Creating a log if something doesn’t work right:

Note:
“Log raw data (session data)” shouldn't be necessary.

... and send it to kmansoft / at sign / gmail / dot com

The app doesn't care if it's mobile or WiFi, LTE or HSPA or EDGE.

You need to talk to your mobile provider and ask if they allow any internet traffic, or just web browsing (and what looks like web browsing, e.g. cloud based mail apps like MyMail, BlueMail, Outlook, etc.).

As a sanity check, feel free to try K9 Mail, it's free in Play.

A debug log too would help shed light on this.

FIXED!!
So happy! Instructions on my mobile carrier were correct in one place and incorrect in another, they say
APN Type set to: internet (can also be: default)

Works if set to "default" and NOT if set to "internet"

Ah, those APNs...

So with the "default" setting, your mobile operator must have been blocking e-mail traffic and allowing only web browsing. Or something :)
