Title: send button on bottom
Post by: larryg on July 13, 2015, 05:37:32 pm
thought I had this before I replaced my phone.  Went through all the settings, but seems like I might have missed something.  When I reply to a message, wanted to have the send button on the bottom instead of the top.  Can this be changed?

If you're running Android 5.0+:

If you're running 4.4 and below:

App settings -> composing and sending -> buttons along the top

not sure what the android version has to do with anything.  Thought this was an independent app.  One of the primary reasons I bought this app was for that specific functionality as no other email apps seem to give me that - having a send and delete button on the bottom so I can do one handed emails.  Very, very disappointed.

what do you mean with "Thought this was an independent app"?
> independent of what?... Do you believe that an app runs independently of the OS (operating system), really ?

The option still exists and is respected as it always was for Holo themes for compatibility with existing apps. The split action bar pattern is not part of Material.

Icons along the bottom are "not part of Material Design". Simple as that.

Google's designers know what you want and don't want better than you do :)

You can switch AquaMail to one of the old "holo" themes (probably the Light one) in app settings -> look and feel, and then Android will "respect" (as they so eloquently put it) the app's request to align the icon bar along the bottom.
