Title: Setting up Email - GoDaddy.com
Post by: blueturnaround on July 05, 2015, 10:30:46 pm
So the first screen requests "email" & "PW".
I enter them in and I get this error (See attachment)

However, you can see that I am not supposed to enter my email & password there... look here for GoDaddy's instructions (see screenshot attachment)

You see, what should happen is your app should allow me to set the incoming & outgoing mail servers... but it doesn't.  It only requests my email & PW... which when entered... leads to that error screen.  How do we fix this?

You can manually setup your Account Configuration:
 > go to Apps main window (account list view) > long press on Account name > Account setup > MANUAL >

Those instructions make no sense.  See screenshot.

There is no account that is even set up

Also, when clicking "manual", the app still requests an email & PW

You can manually setup your Account Configuration:
 > go to Apps main window (account list view) > menu button (three dots icon)  > Add an account >  choose  "Internet mail" > fill in your  "email address"  and  "password" > MANUAL (not: Next) > New account: Incoming server (check predefined configuration) > NEXT > New account: Outgoing server (check predefined configuration) > NEXT >...

For GoDaddy, usually it's imap.securemailserver.net (SSL, 993) and smtpout.securemailserver.net (SSL, 465).

Wrong, as pointed out below. It's "secure server" not "secure mail server":

imap.secureserver.net (SSL, 993) and smtpout.secureserver.net (SSL, 465).

I've always used: imap.secureserver.net, SSL, 993
and: smtpout.secureserver net, SSL, 465
Slightly different.

Android since v1.0.  Linux user since 2001.

Your server settings seems to be correct:
