Nexus 6 Android 5.1 (Haven't updated to 5.1.1 yet) Rooted, stock ROM
The most recent update causes emails being composed to disappear, leaving a black screen and eventually cycling back to the Inbox. No trace of the email being composed in Draft or elsewhere. Also no AquaMail-crash.txt file.
I rolled back to the previous release that I had backed up under Titanium Pro and after 6 hours, no problem.
I will update to 1.5.7.29 again at the end of my work day and turn on Debug to see if I can capture anything. I lost a very long, complicated email yesterday and when it happened twice this morning, I had to revert back as I can't afford to have my email disappear.

Please check if there is a postmortem crash log -- log-AquaMail-crash.txt -- if there, I'm at kmansoft / gmail.
PS - Anyone else seeing this?
PPS - You mentioned "a very long, complicated email" -- and yet wrote "causes emails to disappear", plural.
So did it happen multiple times? Every time? Just once with a very long message?
-
No log, I checked first thing this morning.
It happened three times. Once yesterday during a five paragraph email (complicated meant that it was difficult to remember what was in it to recreate it later) and then twice today during short emails.
Nothing else has changed on my phone since the last update, so I am logically thinking it's the update. I am going to get rid of SwiftKey, but will wait until this is sorted out.

I have rolled up to the latest version again and turned on debugging. I will be working out of my office all day, so not a big problem if it fails. Hopefully I will catch something in the crash file for you.
By the way, I've loved this app for two years and have convinced 10+ people to convert to it. I think I only have one UI suggestion (font colors in the list of accounts) but cannot think of a single thing that I could ask for. Great work! ;D

Hmmm... If there is no crash log, then it's a system level crash, most likely in GPU rendering...
Were you messages, by any chance, replies (or forwards) to fairly large original messages? With complex formatting, images, etc.?
( PS -- appreciate your comment about loving the app and how you showed it to others )
-
All were replies with no images, no formatting (just font colour on my reply) and my signature which has a small jpg with an attached URL to it.
I ran it today, four emails and no problems.
However my normal day is ~30 emails from my mobile, no attachments or images other than my signature.
Will keep it on debug and see what happens.
I want to ensure that you get the info you need.
System crash? Very well could be. But I haven't had anything else go bad on me recently.
I did get rid of SwiftKey today, I absolutely despise it, so I went back to Swype.
Thanks for your ongoing interest in keeping Aquamail at better than Enterprise level of quality! 8)

No problems so far, so close the thread. I'll capture anything with the Debug on and email you.

Could be this one:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=175143
A crash in low level "graphics card driver".
I was able to fix these in 1.5.9 (the initial -dev version should show on the forum here tonight).
