When I turn on my nexus 5 there is sometimes a half second of delay till the wifi connects. So Aquamail puts up an error popup telling me that there was an error of connection, etc. That is of course expected.
I have therefore become accustomed to tapping the Aquamail refresh button twice because I know the error in communication is very brief and by the second click on refresh the messages are already downloading.
All this is as expected.
The Aquamail error popup however stays visible for several seconds, obscuring the message below it which is annoying to an impatient person like me. Is there a setting to prevent this popup from appearing or making it stay for a shorter time?
Thanks.

There isn't, sorry. I should note though that you can click "though" these "toast" messages, they're "transparent" both in terms of appearance and interaction both.

Thanks. No problem.
The connection problem happens because I recently had android turn wifi off during sleep as a battery saving measure. But it doesn't really save much battery so I'll change that and the problem will go away.

Yes, since 4.3 or 4.2, Android puts the WiFi hardware into a deep energy saving state when the screen is off (when it used to turn off completely).
