Title: Embedded images
Post by: chooch77 on June 02, 2015, 07:02:02 am
Great email app! Best I've used period.
Ok my question or problem is this...I get a email with embedded images. When I go to forward it, I switch to edit original to remove previous address and junk. Clean it up if you will. When I do this the images don't send. It takes them out somehow. I don't edit the images just the text above image's. How do I edit and to clean up email and keep embedded images?

Yes, "editing" a quoted message converts such quoted message to plain text, removing formatting, embedded images, and linked images.

This has bothered me for a long time too. Kostya, is there a chance we will be able to edit without this conversion to plain text?

I personally hate getting forwarded mail with 700 other email addresses and junk. This app is by far the best out there...even though you can't clean up a rich text message. But why not make it elite ? Line or 2 of code to make it revert back to the way it was sent....rich text? I know.. easier for me to ask that than it is to do it though. .lol. still a great program.

Will there a way to edit rich text without losing formatting in the near future?

Yes, sure, a rich text editor that can deal with *arbitrary* HTML -- and HTML that comes in as incoming messages *is* arbitrary -- is 2 lines of code, maybe 3... not more than 5 for sure.

Oh, and if it's about forwarding with omitting the original sender / recipients -- Menu -> Forward (anonymous) back in message view.

Yes I figured that out. Works great for forwarding original. Sometimes you might wanna delete a pic or 2 and resend. Or add one. Or add text..ect. to original.
