Title: Calendar Sync?

I'm confused.  I just saw this thread.

It notes that it fixed an issue with exchange calendar sync.

I didn't even realize aqua had the ability to sync the exchange calendar.  Where is that done? I don't see a calendar syncing by aqua? What about contacts too then?

This feature is not available in play store.

OK, that make more sense now.

Will we be able to not turn that on? Right now, i have an exchange account set up using gmail app that syncs only calendar and contacts, but not mail and that's working well for me.

First, the new calendar sync in AquaMail is for Exchange accounts only, not for Gmail or for "generic" IMAP / POP3 accounts.

Second, it's available in any of the 1.5.5... -dev... version here on the forum.

Third, I'm going to post a current 1.5.5 build into Google Play "beta" channel (accessible via Google+) later tonight.

Thank you for adding calendar sync for Exchange. Much appreciated.
BUT: Have you considered to include, as an option, to sync the entire calendar (all past events) and the option to let the synced event stay on the device forever (=until you untick the sync box).

1.5.5 is currently in a "staged" rollout, right now at 20% of all devices.

For "sync all" -- well, I could add "wider" sync window settings for old events. Note that events in the future are always synced, and so do recurring events, no matter how old. I think this should cover people's needs.

Regarding "turn sync off, events not deleted" -- not sure I see the usefulness here. Once initial calendar sync is complete, each subsequent calendar sync is incremental, takes very little time and traffic.

I know this sounds odd, but I don't want my Exchange calendar to sync on my phone.  Is there a way to turn this feature off altogether?

Yes. Long press the account -> options and folders -> Exchange options, turn off Calendar sync.

Thank you very much for the synchronization of calendar, was something that had long been waiting for.

You have plans to do the same with contacts, ie sync with the exchange server as a normal account more and the contacts visible from any app?

For Exchange contacts, my near term plan is to make it possible to auto-complete them right on the compose screen, without having to bring up a separate contact picker window.

It won't sync contacts with system contacts at this point -- that is going to come at some later time.
