Very few contacts in my address book have photos of themselves. So when Aquamail opens a message there is a square containing a question mark next to the sender address.
Is there a setting that would remove that useless square in the message view?
-
Yes, you can disable unwanted contact imagaes:
App settings >Message list > uncheck "Contact images"
-
I already have that unselected and there are no images in the "message list".
I'm talking about the image with the question mark that appears in the *message view* after you open the message.
Here's an example from a fishing-spam email. It's the box with the question mark.
-
Sorry, but there is no way to disable these icons since there is a functionality behind.

OK.
No big deal but a waste of space.

OK.
No big deal but a waste of space.
Not that much:
... See attachments "Blue Mail" (just as an example)
-
... and another example (Boxer)
-
... and CloudMagic:
Needs nearly half of the screen (40%?) for message's header and subject.
... THAT'S real waste of space.
-
And now AquaMail:
... In my opinion much less waste of space 8)
-
Obviously I'll never be able to approach the "clean design" or Blue Mail, or Inbox, or Cloud Magic or Boxer....
Who needs to see more than two lines of message text, anyway?
-
Kostya, you're doing just great.
I'm the op and my request was not a criticism. I just couldn't find a setting for removing that icon, so "for me" it seemed like some wasted space. But not really a big deal. I didn't realize it had a function and in fact it is a useful function. So, not really a complaint...... :)
