Title: Gmail Contacts

Is there a way to use Gmail/GApps contacts with just Aquamail?  I don't want to have to import them to the contacts app as that means that lots of other apps can browse through them and upload all my data.  I know for Exchange you keep your own copy.

There isn't. From my point of view, that's Google's domain (area of responsibility).
