Title: Dark Theme Light Text Issue
Post by: jeffrey13 on December 18, 2014, 10:41:07 pm
Not really a bug, just a visibility issue. The 'star' isn't very visible with this theme as it is a dark blue color.  If possible, could you please consider changing the activated 'star' color for this theme to something with more contrast (i.e. like a bright yellow or green)?  I've inserted a screencap for clarification.  Thank you!

If you wish to enhance starred messages display, to better differentiate them from other messages, then change their background color. There is already a setting for that in: App settings-> Message list -> Color: starred background.

That goes a bt farther than I would like. I would really just like the activated star icon have more contrast in this particular theme.

If that is not enough, and you still want the star to have another color, in dark themes, please note that other users like it as it is currently. I strongly recommend that such setting change be implemented only if optional (i.e. users should be able to continue to choose the same color as before).

Have you actually done polling on this and have user preference statistics? Of course, the more options the better, so if it could be made an option, then that would be great as well.

No, I have not done any polling and don't have any statistics -- just used a color that seemed to make sense.

Please be aware that Android devices vary *greatly* in how they reproduce color (in all ways: hue / saturation / color), much more so than desktop computers.

So the same color would inevitably be too dark for some, and too bright for others.

Thank you for the response. Yes, I am aware of the variances in color rendering amongst Android devices. I'll use the workaround of coloring a starred message's backgound. Thanks again!
