The widget now has the name of the mailbox underneath but to the left of the icon. The name should be centered to look like it did and like all of the other icons and widgets. Please change back. Thanks for all of the updates on a great program that keeps getting better.

I can't wait for push on exchange (EWS) accounts and calendar integration!

Widget looks funky on my Nexus 6.  Even if the font was centered, it's higher than every other icon.

Anxiously waiting for EWS push.

Thanks Kostya!

Centering? I don't think it was ever centered, but I'll check.

The main change was to give widgets fixed size rather than "as large as the particular launcher / home screen allows" -- which looked terrible on Note type devices (large screen, four icons per row).

>> higher than every other icon

Widgets layouts are specified by their respective apps. Home screen icons are rendered by the particular home screen launcher on a particular device.

Matching them perfectly, for all devices, is simply not possible. Make it better on one device, and it gets worse on others.

I would appreciate a screenshot though, since I don't happen to have a Nexus 6.

The centering I just fixed (labels were centered before, I was wrong).

As for the rest -- the *vertical* position of the widget's label -- like I said, making widgets look *exactly* like home screen icons is an exercise in futility.

On my Samsung note 10.1 this change has resulted in left aligned text (which you have now fixed) but with the bottom half of the text cut off

(Using Apex launcher with 8 rows of icons in landscape mode with icon size at 80% and text at 100%)

It was fine before

>> the bottom half of the text cut off

Also fixed today (I was seeing it in stock launcher on a Nexus 7, but should be the same -- tablets have a much smaller grid than phones, surprisingly).

Please try and let me know:

Much better, thanks. However, the words at the bottom of the AquaMail widget icons do sit higher than every other icon on the home screen. I'm using Nova with a 5x5 icon grid.

Re: clipping fixed -- good.

Re: widgets vs. launcher's built-in objects: please see the attached screenshot.

Just accept the fact that widgets are not launcher icons. Please.

Especially when you throw in things like "this launcher vs. that launcher" and "5x5 grid vs. 4x4 or 6x12".

It used to line up perfectly, any chance for a before/after switch for the height?  ;) hi

It lined up on some devices, and didn't line up on others.

The sizes were good on some devices, and awful on others.

I tried to make it less awful on those devices I have on my desk, and it inevitably made it somewhat worse on some others.

Widgets are not launcher icons.

Really. Seriously.

I'm not making it up.

But they should be. Put it back, pretty please?  It should look perfect on the latest Google flagship.

Oh well, thanks anyway.

Jeeeze, next time I'll add sarcasm tags.
I know the centering was fixed, I can read.

I only had responded to your multiple request to "line up" the widget with other icons (which is not possible to fit for all various devices as Kostya eplained) ... not for the already fixed "centered label".

As my understanding your request was not the "centered label". Therefore I don't understand your reply:

Jeeeze, next time I'll add sarcasm tags.
I know :) the centering was fixed, I can read.

So please try to describe in detail what issue you still have now. As I recommended the best should be to attach screenshot(s).

No sarcasm tags needed from my side.  :D

There is an opportunity here for third party launchers:

Right now apps like Apex / Nova / Smart Launchers let apps display a counter on their icon.

This is a great feature compared to stock launchers, but it's 1) a single counter and 2) always the app's icon and label.

What they (these launchers) could do is provide a way for third party apps to "say":

>>>
This "widget" (or whatever) should look just like a home screen icon *except* this is the image, this is the label, and this is the counter value.

Render it the same way as home screen icons (shortcuts, apps), but use this image and this label and this counter.
<<<

Then an app like mine would let the user create these "things" pointing to specific folders or accounts, just like widgets now -- but their look would be consistent with other icons (apps, shortcuts) on the home screen.

Apex / Nova / Smart Launcher users, who's going to be fastest to contact the developer(s) of their favorite launcher?

Thank you.

Device? Android version? Launcher?

AAAAAannnnd we have a winner!

I'm not going to post the user's name / ID because of privacy, but someone's already done this!

Only for Nova Launcher Prime, privacy is overrated. ;)

Widgets, widgets... Mumble, mumble... Grumble and grumble...

I had to revert the recent changes to "counter" widgets for reasons unrelated to widgets themselves.

Somehow I have this feeling that it'll make more than a few users happy (although I still think they look wrong on "phablets", too large).
