Title: How to link an image/logo saved on a website to a signature
Post by: Teachermac on December 05, 2014, 11:09:27 pm
I only saw an old post that said the editor couldn't handle arbitrary html code.

I am able to do this with Gmail and with Mozilla Thunderbird.

Thanks

I guess, you are talking about this post dated 17th April 2014:

Well, rich text messages and signatures -- are encoded in HTML, of course, when the app sends them.

However, there is no way to paste arbitrary HTML into a message / signature, and I don't see this changing any time soon -- because I don't have a editor that would be able to handle arbitrary HTML.

Now what are your expectations?

Yes, AquaMail is still not Thunderbird.

And I'm sure by "Gmail" you mean Gmail's web mail (on a desktop computer, not Android) or a desktop mail app accessing a Gmail account -- since the native Android Gmail app, even version 5.0, even running on Android 5.0, is still limited to plain text when composing messages.

What you *can* do, in AquaMail, now is:

- Save your image to the Android device

- Insert it into the signature / message in AquaMail

- Tap the image, choose "web link" from popup

- Enter your link

And there you have it. The only difference, the image will be embedded in your messages, not linked (downloaded from the web site every time someone views your messages) -- but it's actually better that way.
