For about a week now I've not been getting any notifications.
Checked the app and the system level notification is checked.
Special settings are active for all three of my email accounts.  I had the receive settings for the app active as well.

Phone is HTC One M8 on ATT.

UPDATE:  I should mention I'm having the same issue on my Hisense tablet.  Also, I sent myself an email from one account to another and the notification popped up almost immediately.  But other emails....no notifications.   :-\

@steve2526 --

Does the app receive new messages, in the background, on a schedule, as it's supposed to (or via push, if you use it)?

Assuming it's a yes - are those new messages unread?

Not receiving messages in the background.  All accounts have the background sync box checked.

Do you use an app called Clean Master?

Is the application level (in AquaMail) "scheduled mail sync" setting enabled (AquaMail settings -> Mail, receiving)?

Is the system level "background sync" setting enabled?

It appears Clean Master was the problem.  It had blocked notifications from Aqua Mail and a couple of other apps.  I unblocked them and am now getting notifications.

Yep. Clean Master.

An example of gaining great financial success by selling snake oil -- which also manages to destroy other people's work. Way to go.
