Hello there,
Yesterday I have turned on the theme change for the night hours. I have set the dark theme for time from 22:00 to 6:00. Today when I woke up at 7:00 and opened aquamail the theme was still dark instead of light. I turned the option off and my theme got back to light. I turned it back on and at 7:00 it didnt go dark so the timing work at the selection moment.

Time zones, daylight savings, clock being right are wrong -- are all the system software's concern, not mine.
-
I would aggre, but at 7:03 I have retoggled the option and I did ent with light theme not dark. If what you are saying is right dark theme would turn on.
-
Sorry, I'm not clear -- does it switch later (say, 8am, 9am) -- or does it get stuck?
Was there a time zone / daylight savings change where you live?
Which app version are you running?
Do you normally exit the app with Home or Back? Home is like "minimize" in Windows, and may not rebuild the UI when you relaunch the app.

I am using version 1.5.0.19
The scenarion was like this exacly: Yesterday at 22:30 I have set UI change to dark in night hours. Night hours are from 22:00 to 6:00. Today I woke up at 7:00 and I noticed my UI is still dark, even though I am not in night hours anymore. I turned off the UI switch in night hours and my UI changed to light. Right after I turned the on the UI switch in night hours and my UI STAYED LIGHT- That means the time is alright and the app knows that im out of the night hours interval.

Did you exit the app with Back? Or Home? Prior to the night? How do you usually do it?
-
With home i gues, but now I understand how it works... Its 23:11 here and I was still on light theme. I then quit the app using back button instead of home and when I reopened the app it was in dark theme. I gues then you need to restart the app to trigger the theme change? Is this how you intended it to be?
-
It's very difficult to update the theme in already existing UI.
I rebuild the UI when you close with Back and return to the app -- so that's when you'll see the "night time" setting to work.
-
I know one can live with the way day/ night modes are switched, but would you consider this feature- lets say I open up Aquamail at an hour, that a mode should be switched. Maybe in this situation instead of having to restart the app, the app could restart itself? I dont know either it possible to do from the userspace level. What do you think?
-
In theory, yes, maybe, but it's far from trivial.
Is there any reason you are avoiding closing the app with Back?
Maybe I should not have added this option in the first place.
-
Well, to close the application using back button, depending on how deep you are in the messages, you have to press it like 3-4 times. Home button is faster. Isnt it possible to rebuild the UI when the app is opened from background?

>> depending on how deep you are in the messages, you have to press it like 3-4 times
App settings -> look and feel -> "close with long press" or "close with Back from message list"
>> Isnt it possible to rebuild the UI when the app is opened from background
In theory, yes, maybe, but it's far from trivial.

Alright, thanks for the tips :]
