I am not sure if this is with me only or is the general observation, I have CC display is off by default, but when i need and press the Cc activation button, it does not pull out Cc option umless I presses for few times. Thanks
-
@paras.desai -- is this with incoming messages or when composing?
Do you use message swiping? If you do, does it seem to happen on the initial message, or after you've swiped here and there a bit?
-
This is when composing, swiping works perfectly
-
In my all recent session, it works fine, so do not spend much time investigating, I will report again if the problem arises again.
-
Thanks for clarifying.
Just tried it - several times - seems to work fine on my Nexus 5, and there weren't any changes here in 1.5 (famous last words...).
Perhaps you can let me know if you spot it again.

I was just making a comparison of aqua mail and boxer, I came to the conclusion, there is nothing extra, in boxer which aqua does not have. Only difference is that they have comprehensive action menu, while aqua has all the action command but scattered in different menu like sharing (calender, to do, Evernote, or any thing), Quick reply, transferring to todo (indirectly by creating such folder on server side) etc etc. Is it not a good idea kostya to collect all "so called" productivity command in a comprehensive menu, give it a fancy UI, and position it as a nice marketing tool. Just an idea.

...and they realised "multi-swiping" in mail list view: e.g. moving multiple messages to another folder at once
In the screenshot below you can see three messages moving to the folder "archive" at once by swiping to the left...
btw:
I like this colour-changing during selection a swipe-action icon 8)

The point is not to compare two clients, but to bring out aqua features more prominently to give it due credit

I understand your suggestion. Fully agreed.
...just looking beside to boxer, to see if they realised any useful features. But at this stage there is NO reason to change even their pricing is horrible - compared with the rudimentary settings they have.

>> "multi-swiping" in mail list view
Do "moved" (swiped) messages "lock" -- stay swiped -- if you lift your finger?
If so, that's a completely different approach then -- also used by CloudMagic and Mailbox, I believe.
Action triggering by swipe motion itself saves one tap (in Aqua, you may need to confirm deletions, so that's -1 + 1 =0), but... It's almost more "Android"-ey... While "swipe first, lift finger, tap again" seems to be more iPhone-ey... But I don't have any Apple products, so it's just a guess.
Just rambling, is all...

...
Not sure how I can describe it understandable:
I select one or more messages by tapping on the contact icon(s) - then swiping to the left (or right) until the desired action icon appears - lift my finger and action will done immediatly.
The selection is the same as I select one or more messages and then tap an icon at the bottom of the message list... instead of that you can swipe to the desired action icon.
-
@Kostya,
If I selct one message (by tapping on the contact icon) I couldn't use the swipe feature in AquaMail.
Is it that how it is implemented in your app right now?
-
Swipe-to-command (up to 6 different commands) is the great advantage of AquaMail.

...and vibration and sound for marking swipe command selections.
And AquaMail developer (our dear Kostya). With him, AquaMail is improving every day :)

Apart from swiping, what about gathering so called productivity command on one menu, and give it a fancy name and UI, I am confident, it will attract lot many potential users
-
And boxer is far from being satisfactorily
-
If aqua is 8 they are 4
-
Ok will send the same soon
-
@mikeone -- yes, and it's intentional.
There are two ways to "do things" with messages:
- Swiping
- Select and tap a command icon (or maybe choose from the three dots menu, if a command isn't on the icon bar).
I don't think it's good idea to mix those two. Obviously the developers of boxer think differently (btw, haven't heard about this one before -- seems there is a new one every week).
-
Ah, I thought Enhanced Email was pretty much dead. Wonder how much it sold for.
I *think* they might be making money on Exchange, not just covering their their costs. I *think*.
-
>> what about gathering so called productivity command on one menu
And call it "Mail at your fingertips"
( Anyone remember that Microsoft tagline? Information at your fingertips? )
-
>> you can "like" messages
Seriously?
Sounds like they (boxer) should now be acquired by Facbook or Twitter (or Google... and merged into Google+)...
-
Boxer (already well known in iOS environment) has purchased Enhanced Email a few months ago. Their teams are working on an android version for Boxer, which was launched in Google Play this week. Version pro costs 10$, add 10$ more for Exchange, due to licence policy as they are explaining.
For limited time you can have both versions for 15$. Beautiful message list (but very limited customization, 2 fixed preview lines allowing them to use the space under avatar to indicate star and unread), imposed conversation mode, you can "like" messages, no rich text, no identities, no contact groups, no POP, etc.
Yes - it looks nice but it is very limited at this stage of development.
-
@kostya, I am trying to gather all productivity command to suggest, thought of putting it as
1. Aquaease
2. Mail management
3as you suggested mail at your fingertips
Can think of few more
-
Well, at this point, actually, I'd like to have a better idea of what those "productivity" features might be. See you made a separate post about that, going to read now.
-
@kostya, I faced this problem again. When I pressed button to pull Cc option, it simply refused to react. I waited for few seconds and press again, still no response. Then I went back to account screen, reopened the saved draft and then it was just fine. Surprisingly, this happens rare, first incidence after my first reporting, this snag appears rarely, but some how it is there. Thanks

Umm quite strange.
Did the message already have a CC?
Can you clarify the device (original Galaxy Note?) and its Android version?
-
No this is why composing. By default Cc is off. My device is galaxy note 1, N7000 JB 4.1.2

When composing

-
Yes, I know it's when composing...
I just tried to reproduce -- many times -- in 4.1 emulator -- and so far, could not do this.
Does it seem to happen when editing a previously saved draft? Or when replying?
Is there already a CC and you're trying to add a BCC or vice versa -- or no CC or BCC yet, when you press the CC/BCC button?
-
It has happened twice only, both the time when I was composing a new mail when I tried to add Cc, I pressed the Cc add button, and the issue came up. , so both the time it was fresh mail (no replying) and was trying to add Cc.

Ok, this narrows it down for me. Still might be difficult to reproduce, but I'll keep trying.
-
Thanks, but do not feel much bothered. This is a small and infrequent issue, may be attributed to my handset as well.
