Hello,
I got a new smartphone and hope to be able to transfer the settings from the old to the new one.
When I made the backup on the old one, the file AquaMail.accounts.backup was safed to SD/
Now, on the new phone, I first installed aquamail and then opened safe and restore.
In the middle of the screen is active
Folder /storage/emulated/0/backup/Aquamail
below it says
"No backup found"
and at the bottom of the screen is active Safe,
not active is restore
Hoping that this will help, I made a copy of AquaMail.accounts.backup
and placed that in /storage/emulated/0/backup/Aquamail.
Evidently I'm wrong - how must I proced to get my old settings working on the new phone?
Thank you for advise,
Götz Perll
BTW: The old phone has Android 4.1.1, the new 4.2
I moved the SD (32 GB) from the old to the new phone

Hello Paris Geek
My problem is not getting the backup file to the phone - it is already there! Even twice!
But I don't get the new Aquamail installation to find the backup file and to restore it.
The message I get "No backup found" makes me think that Aquamail is looking for the backup elsewhere (I have a copy of the backup at sd/ and at /storage/emulated/0/backup/Aquamail
Irritating is also, that only Safe is active, but not restore, so I have no way to make Aquamail looking elsewhere fot the backup file
Greetings

Safe? You mean backup or?
Simply click on button "Folder" in screen "Backup and restore", then choose folder, where backup really is. Now restore button should be enabled.

;D Hello Mr. Pyler
That is what I was looking for! I had tried to get to that folder - but first there was a message saying that I cannot make a backup in that folder and then I got a message saying that the folders are nested - what made me giving up. Now, with you insisting, I went on - and after pressing one more button, I saw my backup file... And with another click it was restored. And mail after mail started to flow in...
Many thanks once more and a wonderful weekend

Maybe Kostya can add option to choose backup file?

Maybe Kostya can add option to choose backup file?
Suggestion: duplicate Dropbox process. The user can choose the folder and the file for saving / restoring.

if I understand,
the solution is, save the original backup,
install Aqua, and save a backup (I call it "service backup), maybe you must create one account to have a backup, exit Aqua
find the folder containing the service backup and repace it with the oldest you want to restore,
open Aqua and perform the restoring.
Could be useful to create a backup-restore suite with a tool to navigate folders in both tasks (backup and restore) and numerate backup using the date, for example
Aquamail.backup_2014.08.23.01.34
2014 year
08 month
23 day
01 hour (format 24)
34 minutes
the best (but could be more spectacular than useful), select accounts to backup and restore...
With us, Kostya will never retire ;D

@gpl - you mentioned "moving the sdcard".
A real microSd card? That's under a different path: /storage/exSdCard (on my Note 3... in general, this path can vary between different make / models).
