Title: Can't clear emails in lock screen widget
Post by: Slovey on May 28, 2014, 08:29:33 am
I have a lock screen widget set for Smart Folder. When I receive several emails I am able to clear the first email (mark as read) by tapping it in the widget, but I am not able to clear any other emails by tapping them. For some reason the widget only allows me to mark one as read when I receive new emails.

Can you clarify which widget?

Aqua's own message list widget, or something else?

The built-in widget doesn't have any way to mark messages read other than tapping them, which opens them in the main app -- at which point they should get marked read immediately (with the default settings).

Is that what you've been doing?

It is the Aquamail widget.

The widget hasn't been working for me that way - it does not open the main app, ever. If I tap any unread email, it will simply mark that email as unread, in other words, the lettering will go from bold to opaque. It only does that for the first email I touch. After that, touching the widget does nothing.

Tapping a message within the lock screen widget is supposed to launch the app (and open the message there).

I'll investigate why this is not happening (seeing it on my Nexus 4 with 4.4.2, too).
