Костя,
I want to use AquaMail for my work and personal accounts. It's all fine as far as I can see so far, but I wish I could have two different notification icons so I can quickly tell which account has new mail?
Love the app, btw..
Спасибо.

Or some kind of color coding on the icon...AquaMail already allows me to assign color to an account and it's led color. Would be kinda logical...
Thanks.

Thanks but it's not quite what I had in mind. I much prefer a notification icon because it doesn't require me to scroll to the home screen page where the widget is.

There is no such settings / feature at this time..
First, Android 4.* automatically darkens status bar icons, and there is no way to turn it off.
Second, there is no way to draw those status bar icons on the fly, adding color -- and I'm sure everyone using custom account colors (for account view, etc.) would want the colors to match.
This would leave me with a fixed set of colored icons, and open to questions on how to match the colors....
-
I see...
So the only way to code that would be to have a number of preset colors and physically separate icon per each color. Consequently 'custom' and 'exact wouldn't be possible.
Or generate an icon when the user selects new account color. Not sure how possible it with the android apis and is definitely cludgy to program.
Anyhow, thanks for responding.

Generating on the fly won't work -- the notification API needs a resource ID, not an in-memory bitmap.

I was using Maildroid until few days ago. In that app I could choose between three diferent icons for notifications: select an icon for ALL notifications and select an icon por each account (always from those three icons).
But Maildroid doesn't have another useful settings that AM have .... :P :P

Well, that's the question --
-- do I offer a limited selection of colors and suffer the inevitable questions about "where all the other colors are"?
Or not?
If I were to offer colored icons, it would make sense for them to at least be consistent with those used by the message counter widget (in the attachment below). But are those good colors? Someone kindly did these widget icons for me, are they still good, or do they look too much from the 2.* era?
-
Too bad I don't even remember who designed the icons -- if I did, I'd pass along your compliments :)
-
Kostya, I would vote yes to preset colors. To me having colored notifications is more important.
These colors look good too.
Thanks, it would be an awesome feature.

Ok, I'll write this down :)

Thank you.

Kostya, thanks for adding this feature, it does make a difference.
