Title: AquaMail Auto download & notifications
Post by: burris on April 24, 2014, 10:19:09 pm
I have an android phone with 4.1.2.
I am trying the free version before moving into the pro.
Here are my problems..

Installed fine and works great, but...no matter what I try, I cannot get the mail to download automatically at my chosen 5 minute time slot.
Manually all is well, however I cannot get the notification tone to work with the mail.
I tried every combination of settings, but I'm sure I am not doing something correctly.
With all the other email apps I tried, the auto and notifications worked OK.

Thanks for your help....

I forgot...POP3

Try with recent:your-address. Search this forum or google to configurate gmail with «recent»

Although I also have Gmail, this mail is bellsouth.net via Thunderbird.

I don't understand what you suggested.

I resolved my problem by simply checking the option to turn on the AquaMail auto sync even when the system auto sync is off.

Yes, I was about to suggest that too.

This is a system-level "kill switch" for background sync, and AquaMail, trying to be a good citizen, plays by the rules here. If the user wants "no background sync", that means "no background sync".

Unfortunately, as of Android 4.1, this setting cannot be checked from the app -- to post a warning or something...
