Title: Cut & Paste commands to manipulate text

Perhaps "mark/block" is unavailable to apply rich text to the message... :(  How does one cut & paste text?   Additionally, are there any  programmable shortcuts since I am using a Samsung note 3 with option to use external keyboard.. Thanks for any help you can offer.
