Title: How to make new mail notifications disappear for read messages?
Post by: pepe44 on January 23, 2014, 06:42:47 pm
Hi everybody,

I noticed such a feature/bug, I'm using Aquamail on 2 devices, only one Google mail account, and also read mail directly in Google website on my PC. Sometimes, when I read an email on PC, new mail notifications on my phone and tablet will disappear, but sometimes they stay forever, I have to manually clear notifications, which is very inconvenient. How to make those notifications dissapear everywhere, regardless on which device I read my mail? Is it possible? Those 2 devices are setup for push IMAP, running latest Aquamail Pro.

Thanks in advance

Today I investigated further, the status of read messages is correct in the original Google mail app, messages read on PC are shown as read on the phone. But Aquamail still shows those messages as new. If there is no solution to this problem I should ask for a refund, manually clearing fake "new mail" status on 2 devices is too troublesome.

Thanks for the information, I was already thinking about going back to stock gmail app.

@pepe - to continue my response in the other thread:

1 - I really need to know if it's an issue with push not syncing, or message flags not updating.

You can tell by doing a manual refresh in AquaMail, and checking if message flags update then.

2 - If you'd rather get a refund, please contact me with your Google Play order number at kmansoft / gmail. You can find your order number at: https://wallet.google.com/manage.
