I use the Aquamail on my Android phone and it's great.
But.. today I was checking my Google account and I see that ALL my Aquamail contacts have been added to my Google account as contacts? How is that? I never gave permission to share my contacts with Google?

There are no AquaMail contacts, really.
The app uses the system-wide Contacts storage for address / image lookup, in message lists (images) and message compose (addresses), and saves contacts there when you tap the sender's image (in message view).
And system contacts sync with your @gmail.com account, that's one of Android's features.

Thanks. Well explained and very prompt answer. You software is very professional indeed.
Wish it didn't use Google to share addresses though.
