Title: Answering to e-mails with downloading e-mail content
Post by: cnt on October 15, 2013, 10:35:30 pm
Hi!

today I downloaded and configured Aqua Mail. Everything is nice, but I have one problem with answering to e-mails. The thing is: When i tap answer AquaMail starts to download whole message. In case of messages with big attachment file it take a while... Generally I would like to set my e-mail into text mode, not html without adding content of e-mails. I looked for proper solutions in options, but I haven't found any :/

My settings:
Loading during e-mail checking - up to 10 kbs
Loading during e-mail reading - up to 25 kbs

Creating messages:
text mode
Answer format: I have 2 options: Gmail or Outlook (I checked both and it doesn't work)

I'd be very grateful for help.

Many thanks in advance.

I guess that's a POP3 account.

The way POP3 works, it's not possible to access just message text separately from other stuff that may be there... and there isn't even a way to find out what's in a message without downloading its entire content.

With IMAP, the app only downloads message text and inline images, letting you pick attachments to include when forwarding (where you can select none at all, and they won't be downloaded).

PS - POP3 is from 1996, IMAP is from 2003. I remember the "smart phone" I had in 1996... it had no mail app ;)
