Title: How to reflect changes on server
Post by: warrains on September 26, 2013, 10:47:16 am
Changes I make in the Android app, such as delete a message or move a message to a particular folder, in Gmail, are not being reflected on the server.  Would someone please let me know what settings I need to change to make this happen.
thanks

Which Android app? AquaMail?

Gmail is "special" - what you see as folders in AquaMail (over IMAP) are labels in web mail.

Moving a message in AquaMail means removing the current folder's label and assigning the new folder's label.

A message whose labels have changed will still be seen under All mail in Gmail/web.

Other than that, if I'm wrong somewhere, please capture the issue in a debug log.

Yes Aquamail (AM). I am talking about moving emails between folders in AM not being reflected on the server. Of course Allmail is not affected.

If I delete an email from the inbox in AM it is not deleted from the inbox on the server. Likewise, if I move an email from the inbox to a folder in AM it remains in the inbox on the server.
How can I capture this in s debug log when it is a difference between AM and the server?

Is the account set up using IMAP in AquaMail?

Long press the account -> Account setup -> Manual to check this (will be listed near the top of the incoming server setup screen).

How to record a debug log:
