1. The Light theme is too bright. If you add two shades of gray with it, like Gray and Light Gray, it will look great with the white and light blue which is already there. The white was used to much for the Light theme.
2. Your Dark theme is too black to be "dark" by definition. There is no shading in fact. It's actually plain black. You can have Charcoal Gray and Gray or Light Gray and this duo plays well with White too. The Charcoal Gray which is somewhat like Dark Gray will carry your Dark theme, even if Charcoal Gray will only be your second dominant color, it will still look like a Dark theme understandably.
Though I must say, it's already a 5 star app as it is. :) Thank you for setting up a forum for us Dev,

Ben,
Thank you. The themes used to use shades of gray (very light / very dark, but gray nonetheless), and the feedback I was getting was that pure black / white would be preferred. If I ever implement a way to customize the app's UI colors, the overall background color will definitely be one of the options.
Just to note, Android devices vary greatly in how bright their screens are, and even in how color is reproduced.

One thing that would be great, and probably simple to do is a black&white or black&gray message counter widget. The rest of my screen is all black and white.
Thanks Kostya for a fabulous app!

Each widget already has four color themes. This in the widget create / config window, shown as a widget is being created.

Actually, adding a way for users to customize the colors is the way to go. Even allowing for themes creation or css control would be awesome.

The light theme is fine.
The dark theme should be renamed to "Black" and a new "Dark" theme introduced. AMOLED users like black, but the rest of us would prefer something that uses dark greys to make something a bit more attractive.
