Title: GMail: do I need to set up sync if I got IMAP push enabled?
Post by: D4yw41k3r on September 13, 2013, 09:19:43 pm
Hello everyone,

I set up AquaMail because I don't like the 4.x version of Google Mail. But what is the best setup for AquaMail + Gmail?

Disabling 'receive mails' (as I am in a German language environment I hope that this is the name of the menu entry for the English version) where the syncing times are grayed out and enabling IMAP push?

Otherwise AquaMail is really becoming a battery killer... :-/

Perhaps somebody can help me with this issue.

Kind regards
Christian

IMAP IDLE is very expensive, battery wise.

I recommend using it for 1-2 folders, not more.

The rest will then then use regular scheduled mail checks.
