Title: Who is 'you'?
Post by: beaky on August 24, 2013, 04:52:38 pm
I have 3 email boxes, hosted on the same service. Most emails are described as addressed to 'you', some are described as addressed to something like aname@mydomain.com.
What determines which email address is reported as 'you'?
Can I turn it off?
Are there plans to introduce a 'view message source' or 'view all headers' option?

I am using IMAP and my mail servers are on 1und1.de

Thank you.

Hi,

"you" means the address configured in the account, on the first account setup page (also used in the From line).

"View message source" -- no, and no plans... most of the time the app won't download original message sources (when using IMAP, I only fetch those parts that are needed).

"View headers" -- has been there for a long time... see the Menu when viewing a message or after selecting a single message in a message list.

OK, found the view headers. Again I fell into the trap of not using the menu at the bottom.

I will look again at the 'you' issue, as one of my accounts (postmaster@.....)is a catch-all.
It may affect my choice of how to set up which account to reply through.
