How can I shot down the app, please.
Would it be possible to get a switch to turn the app on/off
Sometimes, even if I turn mobile data, Aqua still forces to sync, giving me errors.
Also, I d like to turn it off from time to time to use a different email client or to save battery.
I know I can freeze the app in Titanium but for now I need to unroot my phone and can't perform a freeze option.
Cheers

There is an app-global setting, under Receiving mail... "To sync or not to sync", it's right near the top...
Actual item title is "scheduled mail checks".
Be sure to turn off push mail, too, it's a bit further down on the same screen.

Thanks Kostya but would it be possible to have one button to turn the app on/off instead of navigating through tones of options?

Sorry, no.
This is not a feature that's needed often, and using precious real estate for it just doesn't seem like a good idea to me.
It's not tonnes of options either: app settings -> two checkboxes.
You can also automate it with Tasker, AquaMail shows there as a plugin... and then make a widget or shortcut (I guess Tasker has that type of thing).
You can also stop the app in system settings -> apps management -> running apps. Starting with Android 3.1, a stopped app will be kept "in limbo" by the system, until its UI has been explicitly started by the user.
