Title: UTF 8 support incomplete?
Post by: doctorow on August 02, 2013, 02:12:59 am
I just send myself a message containing the following in the subject and in the body:

✈☂☀♥ test

The mail's subject and body were properly displayed using my desktop's webmail. But in Aqua Mail (1.2.4.36), Only ✈☀♥ test (without the ☂ character) is shown. Ideas?

I just ran a test too.

The umbrella is missing in Android Gmail app as well, on 4.1.2 (Galaxy Note 2) and 4.2.2 (Galaxy Nexus).

It's missing in Gmail web mail on both of these devices too.

So this character is missing either in the character tables built into Android, or in the default font built into Android.
