About 2 days ago Aqua mail just stopped receiving any mail.
No updates to app, or other apps
No upgraded to system , or anything else
No system crashes, or other weirdness.
No change in ANY settings to aqua mail or system settings
Absolutely no reason that I can think of.
Tried to do a restore from the known working backup.
showed
restored 0 accounts
skipped 2 duplicates
Not sure what to do about this. Any ideas?
Thank-you :-\

Have you tried a new clean install?
In case of IMAP all messages of all folder will be downloaded again.
In case of POP3 only the Inbox folder will be downloaded.
-
nO, I have not tried this. Seems a bit extreme?? Ok, I'll uninstall, reinstall, fine, but can I load my settings from the backup again?
-
Yes it is normaly the last thing to do, a clean re install. But if you have a backup and IMAP accounts nothing will be lost.
To your question:
Yes you can restore the settings from the backup.
But first try to set up an account without the backup in order to see if it works as a 100% clean re install.
P.S. In case you have the Pro version you have to run once the Pro key after a new install; to activate the AM pro features.

Thanks Thomas, for the quick response. Much appreciated. I try this and see if that solves it. :)

Complete the uninstall, then reinstall and I still can't get this to work, despite using the exact same settings as the previous working version. It's always the receiving mail that fails, never outgoing. I'll persevere, if you can give any further clues to follow to solve this. Thank-you

Ok lets try to get closer to the problem:
1. Which email provider
2. IMAP or POP3
3. What is the error message?
Have you made a clean install WITHOUT restoring the backup? Setting the basic configuration completly new!!!
Also a debug log may be helpfull.
How to do, you can find here: http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=232
Send it to Kostya with a comment or link to this thread.

I assume you're seeing some sort of error message? Maybe a "connection error" / "network error"?
Sometimes server settings change unexpectedly, and without an obvious notice.
If you could contact me at kmansoft / at sign / gmail / dot com, and let me know what your incoming server settings are, it would help (just the server, port, and security type, obviously I'm not asking for your login or password).

This maybe resolved ... and I don't think this is an Aqua Mail issue. I'll detail this here, should anyone else need to know.
My mail is being processed and transported by cPanel but handled locally by ZOHO mail, a third party email client. Digging deep in my settings, I found a little check-box Delete mail once downloaded from server IT was checked meaning that zoho was not only handling my mail, but deleting everything it was collecting from the server. Zoho has it's own servers and relays all content to my local email client. Even with my local computer off, zoho is still polling, collecting and deleting mail from the main cPanel mail server.
RESULT. Any mail on my cPanel server was being deleted after zoho collected, therefore every time aqua mail was polling the cPanel server, there was nothing there. The only time I received mail was when I sent mail to myself FROM Aqua Mail. This seems to trigger an immediate email push that intercepted zoho's polling on the server.
So, unchecking the Delete mail once downloaded from server seems to have removed this problem and I'm receiving mail using Aqua Mail settings that previously failed to work.
Thank-you Tomas and Vasilyev for your help and input and I hope this explanation makes sense and may help others.
Let me know if there is something I may have missed that could remedy this better?

Since yesterday's afternoon program no longer able to retrieve messages from my IMAP account which uses imap.qip.ru server. It also complains about persistent incoming server errors. Everything was working fine and I made no settings changes. By the way K9 mail has no problems with this account
