When in the middle of a sentence, and wanting to enter a capitalized word, I hit the shift key to go to caps and upon pressing a key, the shift key is released and the character entered is lower case.
Not sure if this is a Swype or AM bug, but since I seem to be only seeing this in AM I thought I would report it here.
Nexus 4 on 4.2.2 (stock).

Can't reproduce: Galaxy Nexus 4.2.2 stock, Swype 1.5.3.15724.
Android text input is self-contained, the app just says "here is a text area", and that's pretty much it. My code does not even look at what's being entered.
One suggestion is to go into system settings -> languages and input and see if the system spell checker is on... Maybe that's what's doing it?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this.
The behavior still exists in 4.3, but it appears I left out an important detail in my recipe. The last word entered (the one preceding the word you want to capitalize) has to have been entered via one of the predictive word buttons. Then hit the shift key, and upon typing the next letter you should see this.

I have Swype on all my devices, and --
-- yes, I was able to see it.
And it works exactly the same way in Gmail, when writing a message.
And it works exactly the same way in Google Chrome, in the search bar.
And it works exactly the same way in SMS app, when entering message text.
And it works exactly the same way in Contacts app, in the search box.
This is on a Galaxy Note 2 with 4.1.2 (just what was closest).
As I already wrote, Android apps don't really interact with input methods (soft keyboard), so this behavior is something Swype does on its own. I never noticed before, btw :)

No problem. I didn't know whether it was an issue in AquaMail or Swype so I reported it on both.
