﻿What this means: "live" networks are shown by channel number. A WiFi channel is the radio frequency used for communication between the router and your device.

The size of each "shadow" is proportional to signal strength for that network, and open networks are shown hatched.

This view can be very useful if you live in a densely populated area. If you see that the channel used by your router interferes with strong signals from other routers, then you should consider changing your router's channel setting (either use automatic channel selection or just another channel).
